What is the Course ePortfolio
Course ePortfolio is a website made by students that review their course work and demonstrate the skills and abilities they learned during the course. My ePortfolio is project-based which highlights the skills I learned from completing class projects.
Procedural Stages
Plan the Structure
I had to review my course work from the beginning of the term and reflect on the skills I have learned in each project. This was a challenging task since there was so much information to cover in each project , however I started writing down important topics in bullet points to help clear my ideas.
Brainstorm
As a class, we engaged in a brainstorming session to generate different of ideas that could be incorporated into our website. This allowed us to determine which applications would be most suitable for planning our project. We also discussed the key skills required and narrowed down each skill, detailing how we used it in our projects and the ways in which it has improved.
Complete working Draft
After creating the concept map, I started making the website using Wix. Starting to design the website was very challenging for me since I did not know how to structure my content and organize them. I watched different tutorial videos on ways to make a website and I used my concept map and started making a draft go my page.
User Test and Feedback
User testing was done in class in which I received feedback from. my classmates and I gave feedback on their website using Kritik platform.
Publish Final Website
I revised my website based on the feedbacks I received in class and publish my ePortfolio online.
Reflection
Planning the structure of my course ePortfolio was a challenging task because I needed to cover a wide range of ideas while ensuring that they were narrowed down to their essential components. To tackle this challenge, I engaged in brainstorming sessions with my classmates, and together we worked to narrow down different ideas and skills learned in the projects to created a well-organized structure for our website. I used Padlet to create a concept map and used it to organize all my ideas. As a result, I was able to improve my skills in content organization and creativity since everything had to be made from scratch. Additionally, the user testing done in class further enhanced my soft skills in communicating different ideas with a group and providing effective feedback on other people's work.
